Women in Construction Week

The construction industry continues to tackle an aging workforce while simultaneously promoting and enhancing women and minority involvement in the industry. The women, who represent only 10.3% of the construction workforce now, are trailblazers for a pipeline of successful roles for women in the future. The industry has recognized the need for different minds, which does not limit the type of employment a woman can pursue. The 10.3% figure of women in the workforce is derived from those in office positions and on job sites. The numbers have plenty of room for growth; however, the women in the field are monumental in our everyday built environment. We are proud to have strong women as industry partners and members of Chicagoland AGC.
